Focus on Afghanistan – in view of the extremely dramatic situation, experts at the University of Osnabrück devoted themselves to the situation in Afghanistan as part of a special format.
After the hectic rescue operations in August 2021, numerous questions arose: How did the current situation come about? Why did the country repeatedly get into international conflicts and its own territorial struggles? What will happen next in this country where a militant Islamist group decides on the reality of life for millions of people? What effects does the change of power in the country have on its geostrategic position? What social and cultural contexts in the country can the international community assume?
Scholars at the university addressed these and other questions to discuss the recent past, the current situation as well as future perspectives for the country of Afghanistan.
